Developer Conference Focuses on Emerging Enterprise-class Java Applications

SEBASTOPOL, CA--O'Reilly and Associates announced today a new technical conference for developers of enterprise-class Java-based applications. The four-day Conference will be held at the Westin Hotel in Santa Clara, California, March 27-30, 2000, and includes two days of tutorial programs and a two-day, multi-tracked conference.

The O'Reilly Conference on Java focuses on the key technologies for developing large-scale Java applications including:

  • Enterprise Java Beans
  • Servlets and Java Server Pages
  • Java and XML
  • Security in Java applications
  • Client-side user interfaces
The Conference will provide Java programmers and enterprise application developers with a technically sophisticated and independent view of Java enterprise computing technology.

"We're bringing together the most knowledgeable speakers in the industry to look critically at the state of Java technology and its use in enterprise applications," said Joseph McIntyre, director of O'Reilly's conference operations. "This event will have O'Reilly's independent, pull-no-punches perspective on the work Sun and others are doing in Java. We'll separate out the promise from the reality, and give practical information on the best of bleeding-edge Java technology. Our goal is for attendees to leave with the feeling that they have new tools to tackle even more sophisticated projects using Java."
