New from O’Reilly: Media Alert

We're taking a new approach to publishing one of our classics, CSS: The Definitive Guide. The fourth edition will arrive in bookstores sometime soon, but right now, readers can buy sections of the book which focus on specific topics.

The first three just came out:

- CSS and Documents (free)
In this free introduction to Cascade Style Sheets, you'll learn how CSS makes it possible for you to completely change the way document elements are presented by a user agent. You'll discover the origins of this specification and how CSS styles work with HTML.

- Selectors, Specificity, and the Cascade
Exactly how does the "cascade" in Cascading Style Sheets work? This concise guide demonstrates the power and simplicity of CSS selectors for applying style rules to different web page elements.

- Values, Units, and Colors
In this book, you'll learn how to work with an array of unitsincluding measurements and keywordsthat help you define color, text, distance between elements, location of external files, and other values.

Interested in a review copy? Just drop me a note and let me know your preference of ebook or print. I look forward to hearing what you think about this new format.

Best,
Mary
